Artistic Director

Heli Jürgenson has studied choir conducting at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Since 1992, she has been a teacher in the field of choir conducting at the Ots School. She has been the conductor of the Estonia Society Mixed Choir since its establishment in 1993. From 2001 to 2012, she worked as the chorus master for the Estonian National Opera, preparing both operas and vocal-symphonic large forms. Since 2012, Heli has been the chorus master of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

Heli is beloved at the Estonian Song Festivals as a conductor and choir director for mixed choirs. She has also served as the artistic director of the Finland-Estonia Song Festival and the artistic director of several spiritual song festivals for many years. In 2013, she received the Gustav Ernesaks Foundation's choral music scholarship and was awarded the title of Choir Conductor of the Year by the Estonian Choral Association. In 2020, Heli was honored with the Order of the White Star, Class IV.

In 2017, Heli was the conductor and artistic director of the XII Youth Song Festival, "I Remain." When she is not involved in music, she enjoys the beautiful Estonian nature and everything that can be cultivated, blossoms, and bears fruit, giving her energy and vitality.
